Many of our customers asked that we provide a way to provide 12 Vdc power to their radar detector, laser jammer and photo radar jammer throiugh a single power switch. And theywant the power cables hidden under the dash. They want one, discreet power switch, instead of 3 separate switches around the vehicle and they want to switch power modes between ACTIVE (radar detector / laser defense / photo defense) and SAFE (Park Assist) power modes. APC is the solution to the requirements. APC is patent pending and manufactured by 1stRadarDetectors.
If you have a radar detector and laser jammer installed in your vehicle, the APC Power Control product will definitely be of interest to you. Maybe you have a photo radar detector too! How many radar laser power switches do you have in your vehicle? When you encounter a police speed trap, and you want to discreetly shut power offtoyour radar, laser and photo radar products, do you get flustered on whichpower switch to shut off in that speed trap? And you want to keep yourvehicle driving in astraight line? You may have a Radar Detector power button on the windshield, a laser detector power switch down on the center console; perhaps a photo radar power switch somewhere else. Power cables around the vehicle. When you come into a speed trap, your emotions usually do not allow a calm response, but demand a frantic search for two or three POWER OFF buttons.
The APC, Active Power Control Interface organizes all those power cables to a single power control module which has a single POWER SWITCH, so you can switch all of your radar laser photo products with a single Master Power Control switch. APC allows a calm response when you encounter a speed trap to switch all your radar, laser and photo products from ACTIVE power to SAFE power mode with a single power control module and one power switch.
The SCD Photo Speed Camera product also has an ACTIVE and SAFE power mode of operation, where ACTIVE power mode is a photo speed camera blocker and SAFE power mode is “license plate lights only”. The SCD product allows you to protect your license plate from being imaged or change to a SAFE mode where you simply turn on accessory license plate lights. Radar and laser alerts will be added to the SCD as those features become available.
What does the ACTIVE Mode II of the APC do for you? Some laser products provide two modes of operation. One power mode is an ACTIVE laser block mode used on the highway to block laser gun from reading your speed. The second, SAFE, power mode of several laser products is called PARK ASSIST. On rare occasions, a policeman might ask why he was unable to read your speed. Using the APC, you would have already switched from ACTIVE mode to SAFE mode, where PARK ASSIST would allow you to reply, "I have infrared Park Assist, which may have affected your laser gun!” And of course Park Assist is used when you are parking in a dark garage, so that you don’t bump into a wall and damage your car. The Park Assist in a laser blocker product is a SAFE power mode of operation.
The APC Active Power Control Interface allows you to plug (plug and play) a laser blocker in, plug a photo speed camera blocker in as well, and plug a radar detector into the APC power control, allowing all three products to be managed by one power switch.
Hide all your cables under the dash and stop messing around with two or three power switches for your radar, laser and photo products. MODE II switches the laser defuser, photoblocker and radar detector on with a “Flick of a Switch”. Pressing MODE I switches the laser detector to “Park Assist” operation; switches the photoblocker to “License Plate Lights only” and switches your radar detector off. Or press “O” to instantly switch the entire system off!
Now you do not have to frantically search for 2 or 3 power switches, trying to switch from ACTIVE to SAFE. Simply use the APCI to power all of your radar, laser and photo products and hide your cables.
Bring all your countermeasure products under control though one Master Control product with the capability to operate in two modes of operation. No installation is required.
Changing from ACTIVE MODE to SAFE MODE is done with a Flick of the Switch – you control all the products with one Power Control module, rather than frantically searching for 2 or 3 different power switches installed around your vehicle. Radar, laser and photo alerts are enabled as applicable.
One Active Power Control Interface allows you to plug in a variety of countermeasure products for power control. You can easily switch between ACTIVE protection modes and the secondary SAFE modes, when caution is needed for those products with SAFE modes of operation such as “Park Assist” and “License Plate Lights Only” for the photoblocker.
For vehicles with Cambus power control such as Audi, Mercedes, Chrysler 2008 and newer; hardwire the APC 12 Vdc to 5A Interior Mirror tap in the fuse box. All other vehicles, connect 12Vdc to Cigarette Power line.
The APC provides a “Dual Mode of Operation” to permit the instant power management of your radar, laser and photo countermeasures. APC instantly allows you to flick from ACTIVE Mode II to SAFE Mode I when Discretion is called for. Radar detector, laser detector and speed camera detector are optional. Optional accessory cables are available for INSTALLED products that require a red (+) lead and black (–) lead for power hookup.
