Performance

The Beltronics RX65 is an excellent radar detector, which is typically mounted in the windshield. The Bel RX65 can detect the Ka police radar band, the most used radar band today, at 9 miles. The radar gun sensitivity of Bel radar detectors is superb to detect weak signals from hidden “over-the-hill” radar traps and hidden, “around-the-curve” radar guns. Most radar detectors are not capable of providing this level of radar gun sensitivity.

Bel Radar Detectors included SWS detector alerts, which are special K band road construction and road hazard, safety alerts. When turned on and selected, SWS will alert you to road hazards and construction; if the SWS transmitter technology is used by road crews and ambulances.

We noted many POP3 alerts with the Bel RX65, but this is due to having to detect a very fast, (67millisecond) POP3, burst radar pulse, and having very little time to determine if it is a real radar signal or a false laser signal. The very high radar detection sensitivity of the Beltronics RX65 causes the POP3 false alerts to increase. We recommend POP3 to be turned off and Highway X to be turned off. This permits the Beltronics RX65 to reduce false radar alerts and allows the superb detection sensitivity to be used against K and Ka radar guns.

Laser – The Beltronics RX65 also detects laser from the windshield. If you want more complete laser protection, buy laser jammers from Blinder M27 or M47 laser jammer and install the products into the grille, where the police aim laser guns. Although the Beltronics RX65 detects laser guns, the only way a radar detector can detect laser is when the laser beam is pointing at you. If the laser beam is pointing at you, and you detect the laser gun, they already have your speed. Laser jammers can be added to the Beltronics RX65 to detect and jam the laser guns.
