Prowler Remote System, PRS1-B, superb 360 test.

Jan 01, 2006 - NIWOT, CO -
The Prowler Remote System, PRS1-B was installed on this Chevy 4x4 Dooly pick up truck to provide 360 degree protection. The PRS1-B has an M40 Laser Jammer, RX75 Pro Remote Radar Detector, and VF2 installed in front; and an M20, RX75 and VF2 installed in the rear. For the SML test we also installed an Escort Passport ZR3 and a Bel Pro LP905 Laser Jammer installed for the test. Any product that needs to be evaluated by Carl Fors, SML 2005, can be turned on at the flick of a switch. Nadia and Rosa, SML Radar Girls, look fine! NOTICE, THE VF2 ACTIVE PHOTO JAMMER PREVENTED THE SPEED TRAP CAMERA FROM GETTING THE LICENSE PLATE REGISTRATION. No "Ticket in the Mail".
Speed Measurement Labs uses professionally trained police staff from El Paso, Texas. This Sherrif's deputy operated most of the radar and laser guns used in the SML tests.
Dave from SML used to work in military applications and has a vast knowledge in Laser and Infrared. He is confirming infrared responses of every laser jammer tested as it approaches the laser gun.
Leon Gruner of Blinder X-Treme is using a variety of laser guns, Kustom Pro III, Stalker LZ1, Laser Atlanta, Reigl to challenge the LazerMimic, Laser Tec Pro 20 and MegaJammer products produced in Korea. These Korean products are discussed in another news article on this site. Jamie Whisner of our company is behind Leon recording each laser challenge to video.
Motorcycles around the world can be protected by the VF1
There is no chance that a speed trap camera can get your license plate registration using the VF2 Photo Jammer.

We found a Tarantula in the desert and put it in a box to show my Grand Daughter, Zudi. As I opened the box, she jumped about a foot in the air and took 3 rapid steps back. This was the spider that one of the SML girls was so frightened of. It was just a spider!

Speed Measurement Labs, Annual Performance Test, June 24 – 26, 2005 Hot! Hot! Hot! That’s the way it was in El Paso, Texas during the SML test this year. 114 degrees F in the sun and 105 degrees in the shade. John Turner, Jamie Whisner worked with GSG Technologies, our partner company from Victoria, BC, to test our major products this year. Martin Young and Greg Randall of GSG Technologies found the SML tests quite informative and have seen the rigorous testing that goes into SML performance tests.

We also met some great soldiers just back from Iraq. They were having some beers and relaxing and spent an evening by the poolside with two lovely Radar Girls, Nadia and Rosa from SML. I hope that made their day! Those soldiers were great!

The PRS1-B is a full 360 degree protection system with the following components: Dual Bel RX75 Remote Radar Detectors for front/rear/side alerts to radar M40 X-Treme Laser Jammer with 4 laser jammer modules to detect/jam front laser M20 X-Treme Laser Jammer with 2 laser jammer modules to detect/jam rear laser NEW***Dual VF2 Photo Jammers with front and rear photo radar speed trap detection/jamming Dual X/K/Ka/L Alert Displays in the cockpit of the vehicle Dual, Master Power On/Off switches, 1 each for radar detection & laser/photo jammers.

The first test that was ran was for alert strength of Instant On radar at 2 miles to determine how effective the RX75 products were. The number of alert intensity bars were noted to see if the RX75 was detecting a full signal at 2 miles. The RX75, which is integrated as part of the PRS1-B Prowler Remote System, measures full intensity with 6 alert bars, and the PRS1-B provided 4-5 bars on Instant On Ka radar band tests.

The next test was ran for alert strength of Constant On radar at 2 miles to determine how effective the RX75 products were. The 2 mile distance had a typical hill between the radar gun and RX75, and the RX75 provided 3-4 bars on Constant On Ka radar band tests. We also tested RDD (radar detector detector) invisibility. The RX75 Pro was 100% invisible to VG2 RDD, 100% invisible to the new VG4 RDD; and was invisible to the new Spectre III RDD to an average of 675 feet. The M40 was tested for laser jamming on the front end of our big Chevy 3500 4x4 Dooly. On a standard passenger vehicle or small pickup/SUV, an M20 would be sufficient to detect and jam laser on the front of the vehicle, but with the Chevy 3500, (our pet phrase was “Big Ass”), requires more jamming power across the front of the vehicle, since the C3500 stands taller than most vehicles and offers a wider profile to the laser gun. Four M40 laser modules were installed in the front grille and 2 M20 Laser modules were installed on the rear bumper on either side of the license plate. The test results were superb. The M40 went up against the Kustom Pro III, Stalker LZ1, LTI, Laser Atlanta and Reigl laser guns. The Blinder M40 jammed each laser gun encountered at 1000 feet and 500 feet, JTG (Jam to Gun) with a 97% performance, while the M20 shut down the attempts of laser acquisition from the rear. NEW PRODUCT:

The VF2 Photo Jammer was also tested as part of the PRS1-B to determine how well a photo radar, speed trap, camera could acquire the license plate registration. The VF2 is designed to detect the flash of the photo camera and respond by instantly flashing the license plate with a bright, downward pointing white light. The VF2 causes the license plate to turn a true white when the camera tries to get a plate image, which prevents unwanted data collection analog and digital cameras. The downward flash is safe as it does not blind a driver behind the vehicle, as does the active flash back photo jammers. The test results were 100% winning performance with the VF2 product, front and back on the Chevy 3500 Dooly pickup truck. Note that the license plate on the C3500 truck was shielded from the camera by the VF2 Photo Radar Jammer.

We found a tarantula in the desert and showed it to my grand daughter upon returning from our SML trip. She jumped back about 3 feet when I opened the box. The spider has a story behind it. Nadia, one of the two Radar Girls from SML pictured on the red truck above) was riding shotgun in a test vehicle. She was parked waiting for her test run and spied the spider about 10 feet from her window in the desert. One of the El Paso police arrested the 8 legged critter; but it had been dead for some time. I thought Nadia was going to die on the spot while sitting in the test car! Nadia, it had not moved for at least 3 years.

I would like to thank Carl Fors of Speed Measurement Labs for a good performance test in 2005. We enjoy the professionalism he brings to the annual tests. His tests help us distinguish between the products that talk the talk, and the products that deserve 5 star performance ratings due to superb engineering and well thought out features. We hope you appreciate our objectives of offering the very best performance, and testing the products we offer with independent sources.

We add these test results to our sites for your product evaluations, and our confirmation on 5 star and 4 star product ratings.
