Passport 8500 X50 is superb at detecting hidden radar traps around blind curves. Laser Jammer - Blinder M27 - If you want protection from the LTI Ultralyte, Stalker LZ-1, Laser Atlanta, Kustom Pro III, Laveg, Riegl laser guns, get the M27 laser jammer. Although radar detectors can detect laser guns, it is a laser jammer that protects you from a laser gun. Laser guns point directly at your vehicle, so if you detect the beam by a radar detector, your alert by the radar detector is simply telling you that your speed has already been detected. Detection of laser is not good enough. You have to jam it while you adjust your speed. The laser jammer detects the laser beam, alerts you, blocks the laser gun speed reading, giving you time to adjust your speed. Laser jammer is what you need.

Product Tests

• Radar - During our road testing of Escort 8500 X50 radar detector, we logged a typical 8.5 mile distance detection of Ka radar. This is quite good with very good radar detector sensitivity. False alerts were few. We would still suggest shutting X band off in town. The SWS detector alerts (special K band safety alerts) when turned on and selected, will alert you to road hazards and construction; if the SWS transmitter technology is used by road crews and ambulances. We found that we would often encounter road hazard situations, but sometimes the EscortPassport did not alert due to the SWS technology not being used by the road crews and ambulances. The Passport 8500 X50 excellent at alerting you to a real POP3 signal, which is a very fast, (67millisecond) burst radar pulse. Many radar detectors today can detect fast radar pulses, but can not tell if the fast signal is simply a false alert or a real POP3 radar burst. It can detect POP3 better than nearly all other radar detectors with very few false alerts.
• Laser - The Laser Jammer is the Blinder M27 or the Blinder M47. Both laser jammers have been tested by 1stRadarDetectors, Speed Measurement Labs and a host of other companies, all of which concludes these laser jammers are superb and a highly effective laser jammer.
