The Beltronics STi Driver Radar Detector is compared to the best 8 radar detectors around the world. In order to reduce space, we use color codes: Green is best; Orange is 2nd best, Gray is 3rd best. Blinder M27 with 2 laser jammer modules is included with the PRS4-STi. The PRS4-STi-45 includes the M47 laser jammer with 4 laser modules. Performance

The PRS4-STi Radar Laser Detector System is a superb high performance package giving you the best Beltronics radar detection, combined with 100% Radar Detector Detector invisibility, plus the Blinder M47 Laser Jammer.

• The Bel STi Driver Radar Detector can detect the Ka radar band, the most used radar band today, at 10+ miles. This sensitivity is superb for detecting weak signals from hidden "over-the-hill" and "around-the-curve" radar traps. Average radar detectors do not provide this level of sensitivity. The Beltronics STi Driver Radar Detector is also superb at filtering out false noise alerts.
• Radar Detection - During our road testing of the Beltronics STi Radar Detector, we logged a typical 10+ mile distance detection of Ka radar. This is superb radar detection sensitivity. False alerts were minimized by turning off X band radar detection, but we also discovered that some police are resorting back to X band radar, knowing that many drivers turn X band off. We suggest that you drive with X band on, just in case. The SWS detector alerts (special K band safety alerts) when turned on, will alert you to road hazards and construction if the SWS transmitter technology is used by road crews and ambulances. We found that we would often encounter road hazard situations, and the Beltronics STi Driver Radar Detector would alert us to the upcoming traffic hazard. We noted some POP3 alerts, and it is very good at alerting you to a real POP3 Ka signal, which is a very fast (67millisecond) burst radar pulse. Many radar detectors today can detect fast radar pulses, but can not tell if the fast signal is simply a false alert or a real POP3 radar burst. The Bel STi Driver can detect POP3 better than nearly all other radar detectors, with very few false alerts. Laser Detection and Jamming - The Blinder M47 laser jammer was tested at Speed Measurement Labs 2006 and by Guys of Lidar, and in both cases the Laser Blinder M47 Laser Jammer tested best of all laser jammers sold today. You must detect laser and jam it in order to protect yourself from police laser guns. We found some occasional false laser alerts with no police anywhere nearby. The false laser alerts are caused by bright, repetitive reflections off the white painted road stripes at the center of the highway, or by bright reflections off the metal side rails along side the highway.

The Bel STi Driver Radar Detector was tested by Speed Measurement Labs and found to be one of the best radar detectors in the world. It excels beyond the average radar detectors, because it is capable of detecting weak radar signals coming from a blind radar trap on the other side of a hill or around blind curves. This Beltronics radar detector provides superb radar alerts before you get to those blind traps.
