- The Passport 9500ci remote radar detector can detect Ka radar signals at 9+ miles distance, when the radar module is hidden up on the passenger sunvisor or at the top center of the windshield, behind the rear view mirror. It detects hidden radar traps hiding over the top of the hill or around blind curves. The 9500ci radar detector is equally good on K and X band, as well as POP3 radar. And you can turn X band off as you may not need it today. No other remote radar detector can provide this level of performance. The remote radar detector is also very good at filtering out false noise alerts, because it uses GPS and memory to identify where false, store front radar locations are, stores in memory, and stops alerting to those unwanted alerts.
