We test products constantly to evaluate performance. We have a Valentien One, Bel STi Driver, and Escort Passport 8500 X50 on the windshield, a Bel RX75 Remote Radar Detector in front and a V1 Remote Radar Detector in front. When a radar signal is encountered, all the detectors should alert at about the same time. The most sensitive detector will consistently alert first, and the least sensitive detector will alert last. It is easy to identify a false alert, because only one of the radar detectors will alert with no other detectors alerting. We document it all and that is how we determine ratings, combined with Speed Measurement Labs testing.
