If you program the Beltronics RX65 with X band off and POP3 off, the false alerts of the Bel RX65 reduce significantly.

Beltronics RX65 detects X band, which is used in many small towns around the USA. If you want to minimize false radar alerts, turn X band to City X only, which reduces signal sensitivity to false radar alerts, but still detects X band on the highway.

If X band and POP3 is left on, false alerts will increase on the Beltronics RX65.

Product Tests

Beltronics RX65 - Radar Detector Test - During our radar detector test of the Beltronics RX65, we logged a typical 9+ mile distance detection of Ka guns with this radar detector. This is extremely good and the very best detection sensitivity. False alerts were higher than desired, but can be lowered by shutting X band and POP3 off.

The SWS detector alerts (special K band safety alerts) when turned on and selected, will alert you to road hazards and construction; if the SWS transmitter technology is used by road crews and ambulances.

You can reduce false alerts of the Beltronics RX65 by turning X band and POP3 radar alerts off. X band is used in some small towns. Pop 3 radar is used in some locations. It is a very fast, (67millisecond) POP3, burst radar pulse, designed to give a radar detector very little time to determine if it is a real radar signal or a false laser signal. The Beltronics RX65 easily detects POP3 but POP3 also increases false alerts. We recommend POP3 to be turned off and Highway X to be turned off. This permits fewer false noise alerts of the Bel RX65 and allows the superb detection sensitivity to be used for your protection.

Ku radar was tested in Taiwan to determine Ku radar detector performance. Taiwan uses Ku, but we found the Beltronics RX65 did not detect Ku radar as well as we4 expected. Since there is no Ku radar detection in the USA, the Bel RX65 can be used in the US and Canada with no concerns of Ku radar guns.

Laser – During our Beltronics RX65 test, we encountered a few laser alerts from police. Since the Bel RX65 detects laser from the windshield, and laser is aimed at the license plate and headlights; the Beltronics RX65 should be combined with laser jammers for more complete laser protection.
